Types of Teeth and their functions
There are 4 types of teeth in humans. Every type of teeth has its own functions.
These teeth and the structure of your mouth play important roles in your ability to eat, speak.They also help you to stay healthy.
Structure of a tooth
A tooth is divided into two parts: the crown, which is the visible, white part of the tooth and the root, which we can’t see.
A tooth contains 4 kinds of tissues. These are enamel, dentin, cementum and pulp.
Types of Teeth and their function
1. Incisors: Incisors are the 8 teeth in the front of your mouth (4 on top and 4 on bottom). You use these to bite your food.
2. Canines: A human has 4 four canines. These are the sharpest teeth and are used for ripping and tearing food apart.
3. Premolars Premolars are meant for chewing and grinding food.
4. Molars Molars are also used for chewing and grinding food.
